All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement provided upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle pickup. This agreement outlines the terms, conditions, insurance coverage, charges, and your responsibilities associated with the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Batley, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type. A valid full driving licence for the appropriate category is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. Payment information and a security deposit must also be provided, along with any other requirements noted in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or directly at our Batley office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are usually payable upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where relevant. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Batley, it is imperative to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be generated and must be signed by you. The vehicle should be returned in the same state as when collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage identified will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. Damage arising from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of any insurance you may have.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or missed appointments may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities, including racing, off-roading, or other dangerous maneuvers. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting to unauthorized individuals is prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, users should adhere to passenger and weight limits and must not operate the vehicle outside the agreed geographical areas without prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Batley will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may arise from your use of our services. Our liability for any claim is limited to the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to claims related to death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Local Legal Framework
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately once posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
